2. Synthesis of tailor-made extractants and lixiviants

On request, new extractants, leaching agents and ion-exchange resins can be designed and synthesised, specifically for the objected application. The compounds can be designed from scratch or based on literature procedures. The synthesis will be performed on a laboratory scale, and the compounds will be fully characterised with NMR, FTIR and CHN elemental analysis. Several physical properties will be measured including viscosity, density, water content and melting temperature.
